Violet Maroon looked up at the Wilson High school sign and felt a shiver excitement ripple through her. Here she was, a junior in high school. One more year and she'd be a senior. The top of the food chain. No more sophomore neglect or freshman mistakes. Just junior privileges and senior wondering.
She walked up the steps and into the crowded buildings. Violet pulled out her schedule and gnawed on the side of her cheek. She had know idea who any of these teachers were. She'd missed orientation for a beach party in Miami with her cousin Maggie. The party was alright, but now she was wishing she would have passed up the chance.
'Then again, I wouldn't have never met Kol...' she thought suddenly. Kol, the British exchange student who went to school with Maggie. They'd met and immediately there was a connection. If he'd lived in Oslen City with Violet, they could've been really good friends.
"Need help, Milady?" Violet jumped at the sound of a familiar voice. She looked up and met the peet bog brown gaze of Damien Walker. Her friend since the third grade. His dark brown hair was now shorter, a lot more suiting for his knight-like personality.
"Certainly sir tard." Violet said curtsying in her black and blue plaid skirt. She wore indigo leggings, indigo shirt, and black combat boots to match. Her brown hair flowed down her back and her green eyes blazed with power. "Like the new hair cut."
"Knew you would. So let's see your schedule." He took her schedule from her Cherokee tanned hand and scanned over it. "I memorized mine, so we have like five classes together."
"Really?" Violet couldn't help but smile in excitement. "That's more than last year."
"I had two classes with you and the same lunch wave."
"Yeah but I like it when we're in the same classes. We can talk a lot more."
"We hung out after school. And besides, you're my best friend. I'm not ready to let go of you let." He said linking arms with her. She smiled up at him. "Can I tell you something else?"
"What?"
"Your locker' s like two down from mine."
"You lie!" she said with surprise evident in her tone.
"No lie. Look." He led her to the 300 locker hall. He put in his combo and smiled. "See."
"This is gonna be some year." She said going to hers and putting her things inside.
"You can say that again." Damien grabbed his binder and closed his locker. He turned and accidentally bumped into a girl with short black hair that stopped at her jawline. She stumbled back and fell onto the ground. Damien, being Damien, didn't really move. He'd taken harder hits since he was on the football team. He was bigger and stronger than he was when he was in middle school. He only dropped his binder and cursed under his breath.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry." She said grabbing her papers and reaching for his binder.
"It's cool, it was my bad." He said reaching for it too. Violet bent down and grabbed some of the papers to help out. She was nice in that kind of way.
The girl touched his hand as they both reached for the binder and looked up to meet each other's gazes. Her copper eyes blazed into his with something Violet had never seen before. 'Wuuuuut?' she thought mindlessly. Damien' s mouth turned up into a smile Violet never got from him. "Hi..." He said in a hypnotic tone. He'd never spoken that way towards Violet a day before in his life.
"H-Hey." She said in the same tone.
'What's going on here?' Violet thought as she sat on the ground watching them both make goo goo eyes at each other.
"I'm Damien." He said extending his hand.
"Tammy." She said taking his hand and allowing his strong grip to help her up.
"I'm.... Violet." Violet said, even though she could have sworn that they were in their own little worlds.
"You new here?" Damien asked with a polite smile.
"Yea um...I'm from Oregon." Tammy said shyly.
"Nice to meet you Tammy." Violet said breaking the hypnotic love bubble before she was late for class.  She shook Tammy' s hand and then grabbed Damien' s. "We've gotta go. There's like a minute before the bell."
"Oh well I can walk her to class." Damien suggested.
"That's okay, I have Algebra 2 first." Tammy said.
"Yeah, come on big guy." Violet said dragging her best friend away.
By the time she finally got him to give her the directions to the class, the bell had rang right as they entered the class. Luckily their English teacher was late.
"You're lucky our teacher's lat. We could've been screwed all because you wanted to make lovey dovey eyes with the new girl." Violet scolded. She took the seat in front of him and turned around so that she could speak to him.
"What? No- I...I wasn't -" he stopped and sighed. "Was it that obvious?"
"Dude, it was more obvious than that time Brody got a mustache." Violet laughed. She felt a little on edge after watching Tammy and Damien goggle at each other. 'Why do I feel like this?' she thought.
"That obvious?" Damien asked. Violet nodded. "Man..."
"You like her, don't you?" Violet wasn't actually really sure if she wanted an answer actually, but she never got an answer because Damien made a motion to turn back around in her seat. She did so, and found that their Chemistry teacher had entered the room.
Violet felt her heart a skip a neat and had to do a double take to make sure she was seeing things right. Since she was up front, she had the perfect view of his beauty. His eyes were a deep blue and blazed against his chestnut brown hair. He had to be at least twenty-one or so. He was tall and well built like Damien. Actually, Violet could safely say that the two of them could actually be the same height. He wore a black v-neck that showed off his muscles.
He closed the door behind him and every girl in the room fell silent in awe. The boys in the back, most of the athletes besides Damien, continued to talk as every other guy in the room took the hint and got quiet. The teacher stopped in front of the room with his hands in his pockets and cocked his head to the side as the boys continued to talk. Be licked his lips and looked at the door. He walked over slowly and stood by it for a second.
A loud shattering rumble rang through the classroom from him banging his fist one good time against the door. Everyone jumped and looked up at him. He had a cool grin played on his lips that was anything but warm.
"Now, is everyone done chit-chatting After no response, he flashed a grin and went over towards the board. "Alright, first thing you'll learn about me is that I'm not very patient. Second would be that I hate being bored, so we're gonna play a game." He pulled a big jar of sniffles from behind his desk and sat it on Violet' s desk, causing the brunette to jump. She pulled her green eyed gaze from it to him in surprise.
He placed his eyes on her ans smirked as his gaze intended. "What's your name?"
"Violet." She said in a surprisingly smooth tone. Even she couldn't deny his good looks.
"Well, Violet, you see this jar?"
"Yea?"
"I want you to dip your hand in and take as many as you want out." He said with seriousness evident in his time. Violet raised a perfectly arched brow in confusion. Then she shrugged
Without taking her eyes away from him, she dug her hand into the jar ans killed out a small handful of sniffles. Defiance is what she was going for, ans that's what she got.
He didn't break her gaze. In fact, it only encouraged him. He bent down so that they were eye to eye. "Now give  a quick guess on how many you have." He said.
"'Bout ten." Violet said with curiosity.
"Okay, divide it by two."
"Five."
"We'll then, Violet, tell us five things about yourself."
Violet felt blood rise to her cheeks. All eyes were in her. "W-what?"
"That's the game." He grabbed a handful of sniffles and walked to the front of the class. "You divide your handful by two and whatever you get you tell us that many number of things about yourself. "
"For instance, my name is Loren Dean." He held up a a little. "I am twenty-two. I'm from Tennessee. And I am not married." Violet couldn't help but notice his eyes shift in her direction when he said the last par. "Now I'm gonna pass this jar around. Don't even try to cheat by getting less than six shuttles."
He walked back over to Violet. "Now again. Tell us five things about yourself."
Violet swallowed down her anxiety and spoke. "My name is Violet Maroon. I am sixteen years old. I am the youngest of my family. I love art and music. And I have lived in the same house since I was born."  Violet let her eyes wonder back to Loren and found him smiling.
"Colorful name. I like it." he said.
Violet felt her heart flutter and forced her eyes back to her desk.
The class continued on with the game with only short interruptions about their lives and school. The bell rang and Violet got up to leave.
"Violet." She turned around and saw that Loren had called her name. She cringed mentally and looked towards Damien. Who looked a little shady about it.
"I'll see you next period." She whispered reassuringly at him. He narrowed  his eyes and walked out of the room. Violet went over to Loren who pulled out a stray chair and turned it around to sir in. "Yea?" Violet asked.
"You mentioned before that you aren't the cheerleading type?" he started.
"Yea, it's just not me."
"Well I'm in charge of something called Court Cuties-"
"Um..." Violet shook her head. "I dunno about-"
"Let me finish." He said. She clamped her mouth shut in a straight line. "And all it is like a cheerleader, except you are assigned to three athletes. You cheer them on and encourage them to try hard during games and practice. "
"So no dancing?"
"None whatsoever. Unless you want to." He said wiggling his brows. "I'm kidding, but yea. If you sign up, I can slip you in this year."
"Alright. Thanks." Violet said signing her name, number, and email on the contact list. "There."
"Okay, you'll be assigned by this Wednesday." Loren said with a smile.
"Okay bye." Violet said leaving the room. She went to her locker and grabbed her things. Damien stood at his locker waiting on her silently to get done.
"What did Loren want?" he asked.
"Just wanted to see if I wanted to join a club." Violet said closing her locker and letting him lead her to their next class. "Why?"
"Nothing." He smiled."I talked to Tammy."
"Great." Violet said with fake enthusiasm that Damien should have caught, but he was still happy about talking to Tammy. "How did it go?"
"I invited her to sit with us at lunch. Did you know her locker' s right between ours?"
"Really?"
"Yea. How convenient is that?"
"Very..." Violet said trailing off and looking off. She couldn't help but feel her heart tug at the news. Great, now she'd have to hear them flirt through lunch.
"You okay?" Damien asked looking down at her as they entered History class.
"Peachy." Damien didn't buy her answer, but the bell had already rang, so they would have to talk later. He just couldn't shake the feeling of something being wrong with her all through class. And Violet couldn't shake the feeling of longing she got when she thouht of Damien and Tammy together.

Starting my own series today. Free judgment is welcome!
Basically, Violet Maroon is me, this is my life thus far. It's like my third person diary. I'm not posting everyday so...yea.
Oh! And some of the stuff I'll post will be a little exaggerated. Enjoy!
